Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight in 2021

Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight is a Visiting Scholar at Northeastern University (Boston). She has a degree in Business Management, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a graduate certificate in Executive Leadership. In 2016, she retired from a career as an administrator in the healthcare and government sectors, where she specialized in project management, contract management, and talent acquisition. For several years, she also served as an Adjunct Professor.

Rosie started editing English Wikipedia in 2007 and became an administrator in 2009. She has created more than 5,000 new articles, including more than 1,500 biographies about notable women. In 2014, she founded WikiProject Women Writers. In 2015, she co-founded Wiki Women in Red, an international, multi-language initiative focused on increasing the quantity and quality of Wikipedia articles related to women. A year later, Women in Red was shortlisted for the ITU/UN Women GEM-TECH Award for its efforts to apply technology for women’s empowerment and digital inclusion. Rosie was honored as co-Wikimedian of the Year 2016 for her work related to combating harassment on Wikipedia and increasing its coverage of notable women. In 2018, she was knighted in Serbia, her ancestors’ homeland, in part because of her Wikipedia work. A Hoosier by birth, she lives in California.
