Runa Bhattacharjee is the Senior Director of Product for Language and Content Growth at the Wikimedia Foundation. She leads initiatives to support and enhance Wikimedia’s multilingual projects for a global community, including internationalization and language support, translation systems, machine translation, and tooling assistance for underserved communities.
Runa has more than 20 years of experience in software localization and language support in open source project communities, including the localization of open source software for Fedora, Mozilla, GNOME, and KDE projects. Prior to joining the Wikimedia Foundation in 2013, she worked for the open source software company Red Hat.
Runa has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Calcutta, and lives in Kolkata, India.
