Nadee Gunasena

Nadee Gunasena is Chief of Staff of the Wikimedia Foundation. She leads strategic initiatives in partnership with stakeholders that include the Board of Trustees, executive team, and volunteer communities, to advance Wikimedia’s mission. This ranges from leading the Foundation’s planning processes to supporting collaborations that strengthen strategy, communications and risk management. She joined the Wikimedia Foundation in 2019.

Nadee’s career has focused on the intersection of technology and education. Prior to Wikimedia, she worked in public relations and crisis communications roles across the private sector and nonprofit organizations. At Cisco Systems, a Fortune 100 global technology company, she led communications for the company’s acquisitions and corporate investing arm, as well as their emerging technologies business unit. She has also provided communications expertise to leaders and organizations in driving impact and results. Nadee is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, and is based in San Francisco, California.
